Christopher’s Amazing Wing Walk for PAACT!

Christopher Woods who is a PAACT parent of a child with autism, epilsepsy and learning difficulties.

Everyday is a challenge for his son Artemus, but he takes every day one step at a time and is a true inspiration to Christopher.

Through gritted teeth and tears, each day for Artemus can be a frightening ordeal, Artemus picks himself up and carries on despite this.

So for Christopher’s 40th birthday celebrations, he is going to place himself in Artemus’ shoes and put himself through these few hours of his life by doing a wing walk stood on a Boeing Stearman biplane aircraft on Saturday 21st September 2024, to experience the same worries, dread and sleepless nights for which Artemus has to go through EVERY DAY of his life.

PAACT (Parents and Autistic Children Together) is a parent led support group, run by parents of neurodivergent children. PAACT provides vital training programs, support group meetings, alongside activities and workshops designed to help and signpost families towards understanding of both pre and post diagnosis.

Christopher says, “Without PAACT, I would have struggled to have obtained the right educational setting for Artemus’ needs. The advice, training and workshops that PAACT provide, has helped me and my family to understand Artemus, his needs, and how to support him to ensure that Artemus has a happy
childhood and the right support in place for the future.”
